Wild Hogs - Finally rented it!

In a previous post I joked about the chances I'll never be approached about having a movie made about my motorcycle tours. I also made joking reference to the movie "Wild Hogs" even though I had never seen it. Well just to lend a bit of fairness to my previous post we rented and watched it last night.
First things first: "Wild Hogs" had one strike against it from the git go - John Travolta. I have no good reasons for disliking him, I just do. We planned to rent "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "Bucket List". Janice suggested I pick out something so I grabbed it only to discover HIS picture on the cover. I cringed, gritted my teeth and took it to the checkout because my sister-in-law thought it was funny (then again she thought "Bad Santa" was funny too).
The premise is 4 middle age friends in mid-life crisis take off from the central US bound for the California coast line. In the course of their ride they inspire the population of a small town to get a spine and not let a local rebel motorcycle club reek havoc on their town any longer.
Although the movie has it's moments I found it mostly slap stick and predictable. Although entertaining I found the story line mostly absurd and the acting (acting?) listless. But still, for a buck rental it beats "Bad Santa" hands down.
